You’re Not An Entrepreneur

It’s the shortcuts that will honestly cost you more time  – Unknown

One of the greatest highs is learning how to make your own money outside of formal employment.

My goodness, it’s an exhilarating feeling.

You just want to keep doing it over and over and over again!

BUT… this doesn’t make you an entrepreneur.

I’m going to burst a few bubbles, you ready?

If you have any form of money making activity that earns you income when and only when you put in your personal effort then you are not an entrepreneur you’re a contract employee.

Everytime someone buys something, orders something or pays for a service in your business and you have to get up and do something to complete the transaction then you’re an employee of your own business.

If business stops when you sleep, if orders can’t be complete without your effort then you haven’t yet become an entrepreneur.

An entrepreneur creates and coordinates assets and resources that generate income for them. They are then free to choose when and how they will apply their effort in making these assets work.

These assets include (but are not limited to)  raw materials, land, labour and production.

True entrepreneurs are able to coordinate these assets in such a way that they can go on holiday and still make money.

They can sleep and complete transactions without having to personally put in the work to make every transaction happen.

They are able to scale these business assets and even sell them if they wanted to.

True entrepreneurs supervise and manage these assets to earn income, but the business does not fall apart or come to a complete stop when they get sick.

In today’s digital age, you don’t need a team of employees or land to be an entrepreneur, you can do it all as a one-woman show all online!

I get so sad, so so so sad when I work with women who are happy with creating new forms of employment for themselves because they are too lazy or too scared to create the assets and the systems that they need to become true entrepreneurs.

I see it every day and it’s truly a sad sight to see when women complain about not having enough time when they don’t prioritize the time to work smart instead of working hard.

Here ends my rant…

To be a true master of your money you have to learn how to make your money work for you.

The thing about the entrepreneurial journey is that yes, you can take shortcuts that will get you to the money TODAY!

But those shortcuts cuts will result in you working from dusk to dawn running after that money.

Day in and day out, you’ll spend your time chasing your money.

That’s no way to live.

When you master your money, you build systems and assets that do the work for you, you acquire online real estate and you use it as an asset to make your money while you sleep all so that you can focus on what Masters.
